Welcome to Sheepy Magna Church of England Primary School!
We are a small, rural, church primary school situated on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border with 108 children on roll. The school was originally founded in 1847. We have three classrooms in the main school building and a large mobile classroom. We enjoy our large outdoor area that has a garden for the children to grow their own produce and has lots of equipment to play with at lunchtimes and playtimes. We have a Peace Garden - which is a garden area for quiet reflection. Also, we have a large 'outdoor classroom' which is a lovely wooden gazebo, used for lessons and for shelter. We actively encourage the children to learn outside and regularly use the surrounding wooded area as an extension to our grounds.
We are open daily from 7.30am until 6.00pm with very active Breakfast and After School Clubs. Our curriculum is exciting and creative and we work hard to ensure there is something for everyone. PE and sport play a big part of Sheepy life and we employ a Sport’s Coach, through an agency, to work with all the children throughout the week. We regularly take part in competitions and tournaments and have quite a few trophies to show for it!
We believe that at Sheepy children have an excellent educational start in a happy and relaxed atmosphere which allows them to develop into responsible and caring young people. We pride ourselves on the Christian ethos and values that fostered within school and we all take the responsibility of looking after each other, seriously. Our older children run lunchtime clubs for the younger children encouraging excellent behaviour, resilience and independence.
We believe that getting the primary phase of education right is vitally important and that it starts pupils' journeys to successful lives; we work in close partnership with our local church to support us in our endeavours.
If you would like more information about our little school please do not hesitate to call us for an informal chat or to make an appointment to come and have a look around.
We will all look forward to meeting you.
