AGE RELATED EXPECTATIONS
In their first year in school, children's learning and development is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
For children in Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 the following documents detail the curriculum taught in reading, writing, mathematics and science to age-related expectations.
It is important that children are secure in one 'band' or 'step' before moving onto the next, so it is possible that a child may be working from objectives in a band below their Year group. If this is the case, you will be made aware by your child's class teacher.
TARGETS
Children in Years 1 to 6 have individual targets in reading, writing and mathematics. Within the documents below you will see that there are objectives that have been highlighted. These are called KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS and are the key targets that your child will be working towards.
